- Special RMIUG mtg - "Try out the new Segway
Human Transporter (HT)"
April Fools!
The Tuesday, April 9th meeting of the
Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group (RMIUG)
will feature a special presentation by Dean
Kamen, inventor of the Segway Human Transporter
(HT) -- the first self-balancing, electric-powered
transporter designed to enhance the productivity
of people by increasing the distance they
can travel and the amount they can carry.
In addition, we will have a fleet of Segway
HT's on hand for demonstration in the parking
lot - be the first in your neighborhood
to try one out! Please note the new location
below for this special meeting only.
Dean Kamen (dean@segway.com)
is an inventor, physicist, and entrepreneur
who has dedicated his life to developing
technologies that help people lead better
lives. With his latest creation, the Segway
Human Transporter (HT), Kamen aspired to
improve upon the most basic form of transportation,
walking, by allowing people to go farther,
move more quickly, and carry more without
separating them from their everyday walking
environment. He will be describing the process
of inventing and developing the Segway HT
and introducing the new Segway model that
is wirelessly Net-enabled and allows web
browsing while moving down the sidewalk.
This new model, not yet in production, is
called the "Segway Remote Monitoring of
the Internet with User Guidance" or "Segway-RMIUG"
for short.
Also, we'll have a special door prize
drawing to give away a Segway HT, a Segway
jacket and several Segway t-shirts.
